We listen, act, and transform
Hello and welcome!
My name is La’Wanda Myers, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I became passionate about mental health and social work at a young age, which led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of New England. Furthermore, I am currently pursuing a Doctorate’s degree.
From the very beginning of my career, I have been deeply committed to providing compassionate and effective mental health care for individuals and families of various backgrounds. Over the past 6 years, I developed a special interest in working with veterans. Having seen the incredible sacrifices made by our service members, I felt a strong calling to support them through their challenges. This dedication has guided my specialization in trauma therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and various other therapeutic modalities designed to address the unique needs of veterans and their families.
My approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered. I believe that each person is unique, and therefore, I tailor my methods to suit individual needs. Whether we are working on overcoming trauma with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), managing anxiety and depression through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or exploring relationship dynamics in couples counseling, my goal is always to provide a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth.
I work with clients to develop practical coping strategies and tools that can make a meaningful impact in their daily lives. I understand the complexities and stigmas that can be associated with seeking help, especially in the veteran community, and I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you feel understood and empowered.
In addition to individual therapy, I offer couples counseling, and specialized programs for those dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse issues. By addressing these critical areas, I aim to help my clients find not only relief from their symptoms but also to achieve a greater sense of well-being and fulfillment.
Thank you for considering me as part of your mental health journey. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you in achieving your goals.
Warm regards,
La’Wanda
